Born out of Inspiration and Purpose

The name Top Run Bookkeeping was born out of both inspiration and purpose.

Growing up as a native San Diegan, you can’t avoid the military influence—it’s woven into the culture of our city. With Miramar, North Island, Camp Pendleton, and the deep Navy and Marine presence all around us, the military has always been part of everyday life. So when Top Gun hit theaters back in my high school years, it didn’t just feel like a movie—it felt like San Diego.

I was hooked instantly. The precision, the discipline, the confidence, the drive to be the best—those qualities left a permanent impression on me. The whole Top Gun ethos became a symbol I carried forward: excellence isn’t optional; it’s the standard.

Years later, when I began building my own bookkeeping firm, that same energy came surging back. I wanted a name that reflected skill, discipline, and integrity—attributes shared by elite pilots and great bookkeepers alike. And in true San Diego fashion, the play on Top Gun just felt right.
